How to make a photo slideshow for recording a child growth on Mac?

This tutorial will show you a whole process of making a slidshow for your children's growth with photos, videos and music on Mac.

Step by step to build a slideshow for kids on Mac

Step one, Installation and importing photos

Let's install Mac Slideshow Builder on computer at first. Then launch it, now we can import the kid's pictures to the program by dragging them directly from Media Browser and drop to the storyboard. Of course, music is absolutely necessary. Besides, the unwanted files can be deleted by dragging them out off Fantashow.

Step two, Apply style template to photo

After importing the photos properly, we can add some special style slides and arrange it to make the photos more fantastic. Click "Style Template" button, there are several different types templates available to choose. Have a preview on each one on the built-in player until you find the most suitable effects for the photo. Here I'd like to apply the "Family" style slide so I dragged it to the photo directly. Set other pictures well like this.

Tips: Sometime we want to adjust the photo's duration to harmonize well with music. Have you seen the setting icon when you put your mouse on the style? Click it and you will see a Style properties dialog where you can set the duration for each clip playing. Because I selected the Family theme style slide to the photo just now, the background cannot be customized. If you apply general or 3D style templates, you are enable to customize the background as you like.

Step three, Edit photos

By now, if you have a preview on the whole story, you will find the movie looks fantastic. In case of forgetting some important details about the photo, we always like to add some texts to make the whole story more clear. Double click the photo to enter the editing interface. In Caption, I typed "Little Baby" in the blank place. After setting font name, size, color and location properly, I choose a slide template to make the texts dynamic. Besides, in Filter I applied a special slide filter to make the picture looks like a different effect. However, if you want the picture to meet the output screen, you can crop it in Crop easily.

Step four, Add Intro/Credit/Blank slide template to the story

After editing well, let's click "Return" button to save all the operation and return to the main interface. Here I prefer to add some special slides to make the movie more clear and professional. Hit on "Intro/Credit/Blank" button, then the Intro slides could only be dragged to the beginning of the show, while Credit to the end of show. Blank slides are very useful if you want to divide your story into different chapters.

Now, all the preparations are done properly, click play icon to preview the whole movie. If there is no problem, we can click the "Share" button to export the slideshow to iTunes, iDVD, YouTube, Mac or Apple Device as you like.
